Sompo is seeking a VP, Underwriting Support Manager to lead our North America Property Team. This role will oversee a team of underwriting support staff, ensuring efficient workflows and strong collaboration with underwriting, CAT, claims, and other partners.

Location flexibility includes New York, Chicago, Alpharetta, San Francisco, or Los Angeles, reflecting Sompo's commitment to a connected, career-building environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of managerial experience with similar duties.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Extensive experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of managers and underwriting associates including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
• Establish workflows to reduce manual processes and gain efficiencies.
• Collaborate with underwriting managers to support teams and drive improvements.
• Manage processes for internal and external audits.
• Oversee monthly premium bookings and overdue premium processes.
• Lead headcount and workload management; develop performance metrics.
