Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Vice President of Transmission Projects - West to lead a portfolio of large-scale transmission initiatives with budgets up to $5 billion. You will guide project initiation through close, ensuring safe, economical, and risk-balanced delivery across multiple years.

You will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, drive continuous improvement, and mentor Project Directors and Managers to maximize capability and contribution to the Company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business related field with fifteen (15) years of qualified experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversee policies, procedures, and programs to achieve company objectives.
• Direct an effective project management organization through proper scoping, staffing, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and performance metrics.
• Develop partnerships with Operations, Engineering Services, Environmental Services, Energy Services, A/E firms and OEMs for long-range planning, permitting, licensing, design, procurement, and construction.
