Job summary

CPP Wind Engineering Consultants seeks a Vice President of Business Development – Transmission Lines to scale CPP’s commercial position in North American transmission markets. Lead origination, portfolio development, and strategic partnerships while translating technical capabilities into client-focused offerings.

Role requires 10–15+ years in transmission, strong network with utilities, and a proven sales track record. Travel 25–50%, salary $140k–$150k, full-time, Windsor, CO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent commercial experience is a plus.
• 10–15+ years in electric power transmission line market with business development exposure.
• Well-developed industry network with decision-makers at utilities and EPCs.
• Lifecycle knowledge across planning, design, construction, operation and life-extension of transmission assets.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with independent, proactive ownership of results.
• Strong track record in complex technical sales and account development.
• Ability to package technical capabilities into client offerings and build go-to-market plans.
• Technical credibility to engage with transmission engineers and executives; familiarity with wind loading, conductor dynamics, resilience, monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Market Development & Origination: originate opportunities and build a qualified pipeline.
• Service Portfolio Development & Go-to-Market: define scopes, value proposition, buyers, and pricing.
• Strategic Accounts & Industry Network: expand relationships with utilities and developers.
• Client Engagement: maintain in-person market presence and executive relationships.
• Proposal & Pipeline Management: manage qualification, proposals, pricing, and CRM.
• Portfolio Expansion & New Service Development: identify gaps and pilot new offerings.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, MBA a plus
