Job summary

Capstone Partners’ Special Situations Investment Banking (SSIB) team seeks a Vice President to join in Chicago, New York, or Boston. You will work on debtor- and creditor-side restructurings, distressed M&A, private financings, and liability management exercises, interfacing with clients and senior management.

The role emphasizes deal execution, business development, and mentoring junior professionals, with travel as needed. A strong background in restructurings and finance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline (MBA preferred)
• 4+ years of investment banking experience, including at least 3 years in special situations/corporate restructuring
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proven deal execution experience in special situations/restructuring transactions
• Experience training and leading junior professionals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses (as applicable)
• Willingness to travel; authorized to work in the United States – E-Verify

Responsibilities

• Lead execution, under MD supervision, on creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed M&A
• Prepare and analyze historical and projected financial information
• Coordinate and perform business due diligence
• Prepare confidential information memoranda and management presentations
• Value companies and businesses
• Assist in client development and marketing efforts
• Supervise and mentor junior professionals
• Perform other duties as assigned
