Job summary

Capstone Partners in Boston is seeking an experienced Vice President to join its Special Situations Investment Banking (SSIB) practice. You’ll lead creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed M&A, with exposure to out-of-court and chapter 11 engagements.

The role emphasizes client interaction, deal execution, due diligence, and business development, with mentoring of junior professionals and collaboration with senior executives across deals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline; MBA in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• 4+ years of investment banking experience, including 3+ years in special situations/corporate restructuring.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven deal execution experience in special situations/restructuring transactions.
• Experience managing and training junior special situations professionals.
• Demonstrable experience leading discussions with senior client executives and target management.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to develop and maintain financial models using Excel.
• Motivated, creative, outgoing and possess strong skills in financial analysis.
• Willingness to travel; FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses where required; U.S. work authorization; FBI background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution, under MD supervision, on creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed M&A.
• Prepare and analyze historical and projected financial information.
• Coordinate and perform business due diligence.
• Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and marketing pitches.
• Value companies and businesses.
• Assist in initiating and extending group marketing and client development efforts.
• Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements.
• Build relationships and maintain contact with clients and professionals.
• Supervise and manage activities of junior professionals.
