Job summary

Nextpower Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Platform Engineering in Heathrow, FL with hybrid/remote options. You will own the BESS platform roadmap, drive engineering rigor, and scale the team to deliver reliable, cost-efficient energy storage solutions.

The role partners with the CTO to steer platform lifecycle, validates supplier components, and leads cross-functional collaboration to deploy deployment-ready systems with strong safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of design and engineering leadership experience.
Deep design and engineering experience in energy storage, power systems, and power conversion technologies.
Knowledge of UL9540/1973/1642/1741, IEEE1547/2800, and NFPA855/70/70E/69/68.
Ability to translate technical decisions into financial implications.

Responsibilities

Own the Platform Lifecycle from roadmap to commercial and technical success.
Lead day-to-day engineering operations and scale a high-performance culture.
Implement and enforce industrial-grade engineering processes (Stage-Gate, Revision Control, PLM, Requirements Management).
Lead technical validation of strategic partners and negotiate with vendors.
Act as the primary technical bridge to Sales, Services, and Project Engineering to deploy the platform.
