Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Project Engineer to drive end-to-end engineering for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, from development through commissioning. You will be the technical liaison to the project manager and coordinate with internal teams to ensure milestones are met.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical schematics, high‑voltage infrastructure, and familiarization with BESS components. Hybrid work is available in Houston or Tysons, with up to 50% travel across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with BESS, electrical infrastructure or data centers is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end engineering execution of BESS projects from development to commissioning.
• Act as technical point of contact for project manager.
• Coordinate with internal teams to meet milestones and deliverables.
• Collaborate with customers, EPCs, OEMs, and design consultants on integration with electrical infrastructure.
• Review system designs and vendor submittals for technical compliance and quality.
• Develop single line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams for battery storage systems.
