Position Summary
This is a pure sales and business development seat. We run one of the largest airport parking marketplaces in the country; the next chapter is city parking. City parking is the explicit mandate: garages, surface lots, stadiums, hospitals, universities, and municipal parking authorities in every major US metro.
The VP – Parking Business Development owns supply acquisition and new market expansion for this vertical. You will find the operators, open the doors, negotiate the terms, and get inventory to live — and build the team that does it at scale.
Key Responsibilities
01 Supply Acquisition & Partnerships
- Source, pitch, and sign parking operators across target metros: independent garage owners, national operators, REITs and property managers, hotels, hospitals, universities, stadiums, and municipal parking authorities.
- Lead negotiations for strategic partnerships.
- Craft contracts that drive profitability and expand inventory.
- Standardize partner agreements with Legal and Finance, so the team closes at speed.
- Open portfolio partnerships with parking management companies, PARCS vendors, and mobility platforms that bring hundreds of locations at once.
- Expand parking inventory across North America.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Marketing on contracts and RFPs.
02 Market Development
- Maintain deep intelligence of operators, competitors, and rate structures across assigned markets.
- Own the prioritization and sequencing of new market entry, ensuring execution strategies align with company-wide objectives.
- Analyze local market mobility trends to inform commercial strategy.
- Build and run a full-funnel outbound engine, from territory mapping and cold outreach to site visits and signed agreements.
- Recruit and lead a team of business development managers and regional supply owners with growth.
- Set quota, territory, and compensation.
05 Metrics & Reporting
- Deliver against a clear scorecard: how much sellable city inventory you bring onto Way.com, and how fast.
- Run a disciplined CRM pipeline with weekly forecasts.
- Report supply growth and market progress directly to the Co-Founder.
06 Industry Presence
- Represent Way.com at NPA, IPMI, and regional parking events, and actively participate in thought leadership sessions at those events.
Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years in B2B sales, business development, or marketplace supply acquisition, including 3+ years leading a sales or BD team.
- Proven record of signing supply-side partners for a marketplace, or selling into parking operators, real estate owners, hospitality, or municipalities.
- Deep parking industry relationships are strongly preferred: operators, PARCS vendors, property managers, municipal parking authorities.
- Built an outbound sales motion from scratch and scaled it across multiple markets.
- Hands-on with commercial agreements, revenue-share deals, and management or lease agreements.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams onboarding locations, including Scan to Pay and PARCS integrations.
- Willing to travel and walk the lots. Deals in this business get done in person.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong strategic thinking and financial acumen.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Expertise in contract negotiation and supply acquisition.
- Fluent in parking technologies and operations: PARCS, LPR, access control, payment processing, (including Scan-to-Pay), mobile apps, and dynamic pricing.
- Knowledge of driving efficiency in inventory management, space utilization, and pricing.
- Knowledge of sustainability initiatives: EV charging, smart parking, micromobility integration.
