Job description

VP Operations

Status: Exempt
Location: Remote

Position Summary

The primary function of the VP, Operations is to oversee mortgage operations including the disclosure desk, setup, processing, underwriting, and closing. The Underwriting Manager and Operations Manager will report to this position.

This position will collaborate with the VP Compliance to ensure all operational procedures are fully compliant with regulations. It will also work with the Post Closing department to ensure procedures meet agency and investor guidelines. The VP, Operations will be part of the ULC Executive team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee entire operational processes from loan submission to loan closing.
• Ensure investor and agency adherence on all loans for salability purposes.
• Coordinate with the compliance department to establish acceptable processes and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines.
• Assist processors and underwriters with file analysis when necessary.
• Collaborate with the IT team regarding Encompass needs and requirement changes.
• Maintain quality and production standards as set forth by management.
• Communicate decisions effectively, orally, in writing, and via email, to maintain positive relationships with coworkers and customers.
• Assist with Eliant (customer service) standards for processors and work to ensure timely closings.
• Project a professional image through demeanor and appearance, acting with integrity and honesty.
• Promote teamwork and active participation in self-improvement goals.

Managerial Responsibility

This position supervises all operations staff and may supervise post-closing staff if necessary.

Position Qualifications

• 4-year college degree preferred.
• 20+ years of leading operations experience.
• Builder affiliated experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Encompass or other LOS systems.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Substantial Conventional and Government processing and underwriting experience.

Knowledge and Experience

Superior knowledge of property and credit underwriting requirements of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and other loan programs, including private mortgage insurance companies.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $170,000 and $190,000 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Compensation is paid bi-weekly, with opportunities for monthly or quarterly bonuses.

Physical and Work Environment

Requires the ability to bend, lift 1-15 pounds, reach, see, stand, sit, walk, hear, type, and talk. The primary work location is an office setting with low to moderate noise levels.
