Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) NYC Transit seeks a Vice President, Strategic Priorities, to lead high-priority bus initiatives. You will coordinate across capital, operations, and service planning to advance network redesigns, facilities, and transit priority improvements.

The role requires strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and strong problem-solving with senior leadership to improve service quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation Management, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
• 12 years of progressively responsible experience managing complex projects.
• 8 years supervisory experience, managing teams or projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the EVP, Buses, across multiple disciplines, including bus planning and scheduling, resource management, workforce development, and capital planning and strategy.
• Create project work plans through implementation, set service quality and performance goals, provide recommendations, report on metrics, and implement initiatives to improve bus service and operations.
• Lead special projects and cross-agency initiatives with external partners to align with the agency’s priorities and deliver major projects.
• Build external relationships to advance bus projects by representing DOB and NYCT in negotiations with City Hall, NYC DOT, NYS DOT, and others.
• Communicate project strategies clearly to technical and non-technical audiences while leading data-driven decision-making and project management.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards
• May work hours outside regular hours
• Observe the work performed by contractors
• Review invoices and approve them if contractual standards
• Escalates issues to other parties as needed
