Job summary

Bankjoy, a fintech startup backed by Y Combinator and Bessemer, is seeking a VP of System Engineering to own Release Management, QA, and DevOps, and to build a quality engineering framework across Bankjoy's engineering organization.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep expertise in automation and multi‑platform testing (web and mobile), a track record of migrating automation frameworks, and the ability to drive a culture shift from manual QA to automation‑first practices while partnering

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 4 years in engineering leadership
• Deep background in quality engineering with automation experience
• Experience migrating automation frameworks across web and mobile platforms
• Proven ability to drive automation-first QA in fintech/regulatory environments
• Experience implementing release gate processes and go/no-go decisions

Responsibilities

• Lead Release Management, QA, and DevOps functions and delivery quality across Bankjoy's engineering org
• Maintain dotted-line relationship with manual QA engineers and set org-wide quality standards
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in design, incident response, and troubleshooting
• Partner with VP Engineering on AI coding adoption and release coordination
• Participate in senior leadership with COO and product leadership
• Design and implement Bankjoy's engineering quality framework across value streams
• Build a multi-platform automation framework covering Angular, Swift, and Kotlin
• Define quality gates with explicit go/no-go criteria and automated coverage thresholds
• Develop and coach the QA organization toward a quality engineering model with automation-first practices
• Establish test data management, environment parity, and CI/CD quality integration
• Create a quality dashboard visible to engineering and leadership
