Job summary

JPMorganChase in Columbus seeks a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead design, development, and automation-enabled software solutions. This role demands deep Python expertise, strong React experience, hands-on Ansible Automation Platform, and operational familiarity with RHEL.

You will partner with internal customers, own production outcomes, drive reliability, and guide delivery practices across multiple teams while championing secure coding and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Production-grade Python development, debugging, testing, and API integrations.
• Strong React web application development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform in an enterprise context.
• Experience supporting systems on RedHat Linux / RHEL.
• Experience leading AI-assisted development practices and applying secure coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of software capabilities using Python and React.
• Drive design decisions and establish engineering standards (code quality, testing, CI/CD).
• Build and scale automation and tooling to improve efficiency and UX.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues with basic networking concepts; coordinate with partner teams.
• Lead AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed; ensure validation standards.
• Apply SDLC tools and enterprise AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible Platform (playbooks, roles, inventories).
• Lead incident triage, prioritization and root-cause analysis with customers.
• Troubleshoot RHEL service health, logs, permissions, performance basics; coordinate resolutions.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure/security/ops to deliver outcomes and manage risk.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge content; drive continuous improvement.
