As a QA Automation Engineer, you will partner closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define quality standards, design test strategies, and build automation that supports rapid, confident delivery of customer-facing features. You’ll work within a squad to enhance our investment platform, improve reliability, and ship customer-facing value regularly.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for APIs and end-to-end workflows supporting account opening, funding, and alternative asset transactions.
- Collaborate early in the development lifecycle to review requirements, identify risks, and define acceptance criteria and test coverage.
- Own test automation for small to medium-sized projects, with support and review from senior automation engineers.
- Continuously improve test reliability, performance, and maintainability, reducing flakiness and increasing signal.
- Partner with software engineers during code reviews to advocate for testability, quality best practices, and appropriate coverage.
- Investigate test failures, debug complex issues across services, and assist with root cause analysis.
- Support production issues by validating fixes, contributing to postmortems, and helping prevent regressions.
Qualifications
- Typically 2–4 years of professional experience in QA automation, software testing, or software engineering with a strong testing focus.
- Required: Professional experience building test automation and validating production software in fintech and/or investment technology (e.g., account opening/KYC, funding/money movement, transactions, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance-driven workflows).
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language used for test automation (TypeScript preferred), with the ability to learn new tools and languages as needed.
- Experience testing RESTful APIs and backend services, including integration and regression testing.
- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of automated testing concepts, test design, and quality assurance best practices.
- Experience working in an agile environment (scrum, kanban, or similar).
Bonus / Nice-to-Have
- Experience specifically with retirement/investing workflows (account opening/KYC, funding, transactions, reconciliation, reporting) and/or alternative assets platforms.
- Experience with Cypress, Playwright, or similar end-to-end frameworks.
- Familiarity with test data management and environment strategy.
