Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is a remote agency building websites and running paid and organic programs for US clients. The VP of Business Operations will run the company day to day, with Sales, recruiting, delivery and marketing reporting to this seat.

The role provides leadership across four department leads, weekly cadence decisions, and ownership of profit margins, client contracts, and vendor terms. You will coach leaders and accelerate decision-making away from the founder.

Qualifications

• Experience running a large team with multiple functions and ownership over their numbers.
• Have previously grown a company from ~40 to ~140 employees.
• Profits and margins ownership; not just revenue.
• Strong negotiation experience on contracts and with people.
• Excellent communicator with four leaders and founder.

Responsibilities

• Own four department leads and their development, reviews, and performance.
• Define weekly cadence, priorities, and trade-offs.
• Manage profit margins on delivery and hiring costs.
• Lead commercial conversations, client contracts, and vendor terms.
• Develop operators into leaders and speed decision-making.
• Make timely decisions previously delayed by founder.
