Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a VP of Identity Security Platforms to lead the development and management of advanced authentication and security services. You will guide teams across engineering, security operations, and governance to implement defense-in-depth capabilities while aligning with enterprise risk objectives.

The role requires deep expertise in identity and access management, security posture management, and zero-trust policy engineering.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related field, or 15 years of IT experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years leading teams of engineers or analysts.
• 5+ years delivering technology solutions for large enterprises.
• 5+ years designing and managing enterprise security tools.
• 5+ years of security policy engineering (firewall, network, authentication, zero trust).
• Strong IAM principles & modern IDP/directories knowledge.
• Experience with secure architectures, vulnerability management, and security operations integrations.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Identity Security roadmaps as Agile Product Owner with focus on security posture management.
• Oversee ISPM & ITDR platform development, testing, deployment, and operations to reduce IAM attack surface.
• Lead zero trust policy engineering to enable adaptive policies with minimal user friction.
• Govern platforms with metrics on security, performance, and availability; ensure risk management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technologies and drive governance.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
