Job summary

Beemac Logistics seeks a commercially driven Vice President of Specialized Logistics to lead heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, project, and high value freight initiatives from booking to delivery.

Based in Beaver, PA, this player-coach role reports to the CEO and involves direct pricing, strategy, and mentorship of sales reps to grow the specialized freight business. Travel to customer sites and carrier meetings is expected.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, or project freight.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating over dimensional shipments, including equipment, permits, routing, and escorts.
• Proven ability to price complex freight, evaluate carrier costs, and negotiate rates.
• Experience selling, coaching, or supporting others in a sales or account management role.
• Existing book of business or established relationships in heavy haul or project freight.
• Exposure to high value industrial, construction, energy, machinery, or project cargo preferred.
• Familiarity with TMS platforms such as McLeod, tracking systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, project, and high value freight with direct oversight of complex shipments.
• Review dimensions, weight, equipment, routing, permits, and escorts before booking and stay involved during movement.
• Serve as the primary specialized logistics resource and liaison for sales reps, supporting calls, questions, pricing, and direct selling.
• Develop accurate, competitive quotes by evaluating carrier rates, permits, escorts, and routing costs; approve pricing and carrier selection on high value loads.
• Build and manage relationships with heavy haul carriers, permitting services, escort providers, and other vendors.
• Oversee high value freight risk controls, including carrier qualification, insurance, tracking, security, and escalation procedures.
• Develop SOPs, KPIs, and training to improve service and scalability for specialized freight.
• Coach and support sales reps on qualifying and pricing specialized freight; collaborate with leadership to grow the business.
