Job summary

Myrias Optics is seeking a VP of Business Development & Sales to lead the revenue engine and personally close strategic deals. You will hunt new accounts globally, manage complex negotiations, and build a high-performing team as commercial traction grows.

This on-site role in Amherst, MA requires travel to key markets and a savvy, results-driven leader. Reporting to the executive team, you will shape two commercial tracks and own the pipeline, pricing models, and government partnerships.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years in B2B sales, business development, or strategic partnerships in photonics, semiconductors, displays, AR/VR hardware, or deep tech.
• Proven hunter who sources new accounts and opens cold doors, with measurable recent logos.
• Driver who maintains cadence and follows up without needing prompting.
• Willingness to travel ~35% and engage internationally.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue number and pipeline from first call to signed contract; personally close deals.
• Proactively hunt new strategic accounts across AR/VR OEM, defense, datacenter, and foundry segments.
• Manage active deals and ensure weekly follow-up cadence; progress all threads.
• Build Asia Pacific ecosystem with Taiwan foundry and OEM relationships; engage Japanese and Chinese OEMs.
• Negotiate and close joint development agreements including IP licensing and government incentives.
• Maintain HubSpot CRM, track deal stages, and produce weekly pipeline reports for the board.
• Translate technical concepts between PhD team and buyers’ engineering teams.
