Manning Personnel Group, Inc. is seeking a hands-on VP of FP&A for a biotech client in Massachusetts. The role leads budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning while partnering with the CFO and executive team to deliver strategic financial insights.

The ideal candidate has extensive FP&A leadership experience, strong Excel modelling, and the ability to operate in a lean, growth-focused organization. MBA or advanced degree is preferred; biotechnology experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Significant progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, including senior finance leadership roles.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; experience with FP&A systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and long-range planning.
• Partner with CFO and senior leaders to provide insights and recommendations for strategic decisions.
• Develop financial models to evaluate operating expenses, cash flow, and capital requirements.
• Manage annual budgeting and periodic forecasts, with performance reporting across the organization.
• Monitor performance vs budgets/forecasts, identify variances and opportunities.
• Prepare financial presentations and analyses for executive audiences.
• Collaborate with leaders to understand spending and financial priorities.
• Support FP&A related to R&D, clinical programs, and other initiatives.
• Evaluate scenarios and advise on resource allocation and long-term planning.
• Improve FP&A processes, reporting tools, and financial controls.
