Velen Capital, Inc. is an AI-native platform provider serving family offices. The engineering leader owns the platform, infrastructure, security, and the team, reporting to the CEO and collaborating with the COO. This hands-on role combines coding with building a scalable, secure architecture.

You will design and run cloud infrastructure, ensure reliability, own security and SOC 2 practices, and mentor a growing team while shaping the product for scale in a family-office context.

Qualificações

• You still write infrastructure and application changes to production.
• You build AI-first, using AI coding agents with tests and reviews.
• You have worked in engineering at a company that handled sensitive data (fintech/wealth/health/security).
• Kubernetes in production: upgrades, networking, ingress, autoscaling and incident response.
• Infrastructure as code: Terraform or OpenTofu, with safe state management.
• GitOps and CI/CD: continuous delivery from reviewed PRs, safe rollouts and rollbacks.
• PostgreSQL backups and point-in-time restore, with real restore capability.
• Networking and edge: private networking, CDN and WAF in front of the app.
• Observability: metrics, logs and alerts to catch problems.
• Security and compliance: SOC 2 as technical owner and automated tests for access control and tenant isolation.
• Hands on with Python: comfortable with Django codebase.
• Clear writing and calm judgment: explain risk plainly.

Responsabilidades

• Design, run and secure our cloud infrastructure, defined as code and deployed through GitOps.
• Own reliability: uptime, backups, disaster recovery, capacity, cost, and on-call/incidents.
• Own security engineering: identity/access, secrets, boundaries, encryption, logging, vulnerability management and supply chain security.
• Keep dependencies and container images patched and scanned with timely fixes.
• Keep family data separated in a multi-tenant app with automated isolation tests on every change.
• Review and ship application code (Python and Django) and maintain fast, safe delivery pipelines.
• Partner with the COO on UX to scale: frontend architecture, performance, accessibility and a component system.
• Own services around the app: transactional email, DNS, edge, and market-data integrations.
• Own SOC 2 program and respond to security questionnaires and due diligence.
• Hire, mentor and lead the engineering team as we grow.
