Job summary

Trustly is seeking a VP of Design to own the design vision and quality across global product surfaces. You will build and lead a team of product designers, safeguarding the consumer experience during rapid growth and shaping what Trustly builds and how it feels.

You will prototype in code using AI tools and collaborate closely with product and engineering to align on strategy, shipping, and refinements. This role requires strong craft, strategic thinking, and leadership at scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of product design experience with at least 4 years leading design teams at a fast-growing tech company.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end design leadership across consumer and/or B2B products.
• Deep expertise in design systems, interaction design, and visual design; high craft standards.
• Proven ability to hire, grow, and shape design teams and culture in a fast-paced environment.
• Payments, fintech, or enterprise SaaS design experience is a strong plus.
• Effective cross-functional partner and communicator; align engineering and product on design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set and defend the design vision, language, and quality across consumer and merchant-facing products.
• Build, lead, and mentor a design team across multiple surfaces; establish scalable processes.
• Own Trustly's design system and ensure accessibility and consistency across platforms.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to integrate design throughout the product lifecycle.
• Drive user research and usability testing to ground decisions in real user needs.
• Advocate for design investment and articulate business value of exceptional experience.
