Job summary

Stout in Chicago seeks a Vice President to join its Investment Banking team, focused on the Business Services sector. You will lead M&A engagements, develop client relationships, and shape transaction strategy across a variety of clients.

You will oversee deal execution, mentor junior professionals, and drive business development while collaborating with senior bankers, owners, executives, and investors to deliver value throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 7+ years in investment banking or M&A advisory.
• Led M&A transactions through full deal lifecycle, sell-side experience.
• Experience building client relationships and contributing to business development.
• Strong financial judgment linking analysis to client advice.
• Advanced modeling, valuation, and presentation skills; Excel/PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executives.
• Experience mentoring junior professionals.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools; interest in applying tech.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of M&A and related engagements with strategy, process, and client communications.
• Collaborate with senior bankers to develop and execute business development initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, executives, PE firms, and buyers.
• Advise clients on transaction positioning, valuation, and negotiations.
• Anticipate issues, assess risks, and recommend actions to keep deals moving.
• Direct financial analyses, valuations, and client presentations with high quality standards.
• Coordinate deal teams, clients, lawyers, accounting and financing sources.
• Develop sector insights and identify opportunities for origination and coverage.
• Mentor Associates, Analysts, and Interns with clear direction and feedback.
• Work with cross-functional teams to apply AI-enabled research and efficiency tools.
