Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Vice-President of Technical Operations to oversee pre-analytical and analytical lab activities, ensuring timely, accurate results and strong collaboration with medical, finance, and compliance leadership.

The role requires 10–15 years of management experience in a laboratory setting, ASCP certification, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and uphold quality standards across CLIA/CAP/CMS frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science is required.
• 10–15 years of laboratory management experience required; reference laboratory experience preferred.
• ASCP Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor recruitment, training, performance and retention of laboratory staff.
• Direct managers, supervisors, other leadership, and laboratory staff to achieve laboratory goals and objectives.
• Evaluate performance of reporting staff; train and develop leadership skills; establish succession plans.
• Engage with laboratory leadership and various departments to sustain services and develop strategic plans.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to align products/services with lab goals.
• Align resources with service requirements and strategic plans for growth.
• Develop budgets for operations and capital expenditure with prudent resource management.
• Coordinate specimen logistics and flow of orders with provider clinical systems.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and quality standards (CLIA, CAP, CMS).
• Coordinate analytic method development with Medical Leadership and ensure alignment with clinical requirements.
