Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Director, Laboratory to oversee the clinical laboratory's administrative, fiscal, and technical operations. You will lead quality control, QA, and point-of-care testing programs, ensuring regulatory compliance across CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, CLIA, and related agencies.

Responsibilities include staffing, payroll, performance management, and cross-department coordination to achieve departmental and hospital goals while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist certification.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality control program and QA in the clinical laboratory.
• Coordinate CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, CLIA and other regulatory compliance.
• Manage staffing, hiring, discipline, staff development, and payroll.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate laboratory operations and productivity.
