Job summary

Citi in Irving, TX is seeking a visionary Java Backend Development Lead to guide the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered platforms. You will lead a team of engineers, architect scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices, and collaborate with data scientists to integrate ML models.

The role emphasizes full lifecycle development, code quality, CI/CD, and strategic collaboration with product managers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software development experience, with Java
• 3+ years in technical leadership or lead developer roles
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework and microservices
• Proficient in RESTful APIs and event-driven systems
• Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and messaging
• Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and AI/ML integration is a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage backend engineers in an Agile environment
• Architect scalable, secure microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI/ML models into production
• Oversee full software development lifecycle from design to deployment
• Promote code quality, testing, and CI/CD best practices
• Partner with product managers to define technical requirements and priorities
