Citi in Irving, TX is seeking an experienced Java Backend Development Lead to drive design, development, and deployment of AI-powered platforms. You will lead engineers, architect scalable backend systems, and collaborate with data scientists to deliver real-time ML-powered solutions.

You will oversee the full software lifecycle, enforce best practices, and work with product teams to deliver high-impact features in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software development experience with Java.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role delivering complex projects.
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot for microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage backend developers in an Agile environment.
• Architect scalable, secure backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, microservices.
• Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI/ML models and real-time inference pipelines.
• Oversee full lifecycle development from requirements to deployment and maintenance.
• Champion code quality, testing, CI/CD, and reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers to define technical requirements and priorities.
• Stay current with backend and AI trends and prototype new tooling.
