Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Irving, TX is seeking an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst to contribute to hands-on programming and systems analysis with Java and DevOps emphasis. You will build scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems while integrating AI/ML capabilities.

The role requires designing robust software, leading code reviews, and mentoring junior developers within a cross-functional team including frontend, QA, DevOps, and product managers.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployments.
• Monitor applications using observability tools and apply anomaly detection techniques.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and enterprise-grade distributed systems for reliability and security.
• Lead development efforts in system design, code reviews, and best practices enforcement.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities or third-party AI services into backend applications where applicable.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding and improve testing.
• Develop robust automated testing frameworks with AI-driven testing techniques.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and product managers.
• Optimize database queries and ensure high availability and resiliency.
• Adhere to coding standards, security guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct root cause analysis, performance tuning, and production support.
• Mentor junior developers and promote modern engineering practices including AI-enabled development.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies in backend engineering, cloud, and AI-driven software development.
• Assess risks in technical decisions, ensuring alignment with standards and compliance.
