Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Vice President Engineer to lead the Platform Identity Engineering team, building and running the always-on identity systems across the firm. You will blend software engineering with SRE, owning reliability, security, and scalability while mentoring engineers.

The role requires leading resiliency design reviews, breaking complex problems into actionable work, and acting as a technical lead for medium to large products.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Reliability, scalability, performance, security, and enterprise system architecture knowledge.
• Production services and APIs design/build with clean, maintainable code (Python/Java/Go).
• Automation and infrastructure-as-code proficiency (Terraform or similar).
• Experience with AI-assisted reliability workflows and SRE practices.
• Observability and telemetry (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus).
• CI/CD tooling and practices proficiency.
• Networking basics troubleshooting experience.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools usage.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate identity platform services and APIs across the portfolio, from architecture through production.
• Lead reliability improvements and data-driven initiatives to meet service level objectives.
• Collaborate to define service level indicators and error budgets with stakeholders.
• Build and maintain CI/CD, IaC, and deployment tooling, ensuring scale and resilience.
• Use enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage and post-incident analysis.
• Serve as main point of contact during major incidents for the application.
• Partner with security and platform teams to ensure safe, compliant, and well-governed identity services.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across the SDLC.
