JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Counsel for the Home Lending Originations Legal Department to be a trusted mortgage banking lawyer and subject‑matter expert on federal and state mortgage law.

You will deliver product-level legal implementation support, advise on closing and title matters, and partner with Product, Risk, Compliance and Technology to ensure compliant, scalable mortgage solutions from origination through funding.

Qualificações

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 3+ years of legal experience with a mortgage lender, bank, title company, or law firm.
• Working knowledge of mortgage closing and title support.
• Strong analytical, organizational, time-management, and written and oral communication skills.
• Proven legal research skills and sound judgment under time pressure.
• A collaborative, practical, and intellectually curious approach to problem-solving.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as a primary subject-matter expert on federal and state mortgage law for the Home Lending Originations legal team.
• Provide guidance on state-specific closing practices, disclosures and documentation.
• Lead team projects and legal review workstreams for assigned areas.
• Review, draft, and provide legal guidance on mortgage-related documents, forms, disclosures, policies, and procedures.
• Provide legal guidance on onboarding and ongoing management of suppliers and contract review.
• Provide practical guidance on closing and funding, escrow, title, vesting matters and state-specific closing requirements.
• Support the development and launch of new mortgage products and advise on legal structure and disclosures.
• Advise on the legal implications of digital origination tools and TCPA/state consumer protection issues.
