Job summary

New York Life Insurance is seeking a senior leader to own frontier AI labs and hyperscaler coverage on the West Coast within the AI Center of Excellence. The VP will lead a team delivering in-house AI solutions, shaping governance, and aligning with enterprise architecture and business goals.

The role requires deep AI stack knowledge, executive-level influence, and the ability to operate across time zones with travel. This is a hybrid role supporting NYL’s AI strategy and production deliveries.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in technology with 5+ years in senior leadership of AI, machine learning, or advanced engineering functions.
• Proven track record delivering AI solutions at enterprise scale.
• Experience integrating governance, risk, security, and compliance controls into a delivery platform or lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontier AI lab and hyperscaler coverage on the West Coast.
• Own the AI CoE lifecycle from evaluation through production and monitoring.
• Define platform governance, risk, security, privacy, and compliance checkpoints.
• Recruit, upskill, and retain senior AI talent for the West Coast team.
• Deliver in-house AI solutions with measurable business outcomes and value realization.
• Represent New York Life at technical conferences and external AI forums.
