Job summary

Branch is a remote-first company redefining insurance finance. We seek a Vice President, Finance to lead FP&A, product finance, and business insights. You will drive annual planning, long-range models, and present forecasts to the CFO and leadership.

Lead budgeting, variance analysis, and scenario planning across departments while building a strong finance team and aligning strategy with performance metrics.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or related finance roles, including 5+ years leading managers.
• ~ Proven track record owning planning and forecasting for a business in property & casualty insurance, insurtech, or other highly regulated environments.
• ~ Deep knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and unit economics.
• ~ Experience leading or working closely with a business intelligence or data team, and a clear understanding of how good data and reporting lead to better decisions.
• ~ Experience building, coaching, and growing teams of managers.
• ~ Advanced skills in Google Sheets, financial planning tools, and BI or reporting tools.
• ~ Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. MBA a plus.
• ~ Strong understanding of insurance financial metrics, including loss ratios, expense ratios, and combined ratios.
• ~ Experience supporting board-level financial reporting, investor relations, and capital and treasury management.

Responsibilities

• Own planning and forecasting for a business in property & casualty insurance, insurtech, or similar regulated environments.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis across departments including claims, production, underwriting.
• Present financial results, forecasts, and recommendations to the executive and leadership teams.
• Develop business cases, unit economics, growth and pricing analysis, and scenario planning.
• Oversee business insights and ensure consistent, high-quality reporting across the company.
• Create and implement company-wide planning and budgeting processes.
• Identify trends and risks and recommend proactive changes.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Actuarial, Product, Sales, Claims, and Data leaders.
• Manage a team of 10 and develop managers and future leaders.
• Prepare board materials and shareholder reporting with CFO.
