Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a seasoned VP of Quality Engineering to lead the Fixed Income Middle Back Office testing function in Charlotte, NC. You will define and implement a robust testing strategy for post-trade processing across settlements, regulatory reporting, and custody workflows.

You will build and coach a QE team, drive test automation, leverage CI/CD, and partner with Technology, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to align QA with business priorities and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

5+ years in Quality Assurance/Engineering in Capital Markets Fixed Income trading space.
Strong background in Fixed Income products (Swaps, Govies, Corporates, Repos, Derivatives, OTC).
Proven success building QE functions in complex regulated environments.
Experience implementing large-scale automation and QA governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

Lead QE strategy for Back Office applications supporting Fixed Income trading.
Govern QE governance with accountability, traceability, and reporting across back office tests.
Oversee end-to-end testing for settlements, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting (MiFID II, CFTC, TRACE).
Drive automation strategy across back office platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
Deliver executive dashboards and drive continuous improvement in testing efficiency.
