Job summary

SMBC seeks a seasoned VP of Quality Engineering to lead the Fixed Income middle/back office testing function in Charlotte, NC. You will define and govern testing strategy across settlements, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and risk, while driving automation and governance.

The role requires deep Fixed Income product knowledge, hands-on Python, and experience scaling QE in a regulated environment. Hybrid work and leadership are core expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Quality Assurance/Engineering in capital markets fixed income trading.
• Strong back/middle office experience with post-trade processing workflows.
• Proven track record implementing large automation and QA governance programs.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute QE strategy for back office apps supporting swaps, derivatives and fixed income.
• Lead QE team across manual, automation and performance testing disciplines.
• Partner with Technology, Operations, Risk and Compliance to align QA with regulatory requirements.
