Job summary

WCG seeks a seasoned VP, Business Development - Ethical Review (IRB and IBC) to lead a national sales organization focused on life sciences services. You will shape the sales strategy, build partnerships, and drive revenue growth across IRB and IBC lines, aligning with senior leadership to deliver data-driven client solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial leadership within life sciences or clinical services.
• At least 5 years in senior commercial roles in pharma services or CROs.
• Minimum of 5 years managing direct reports.
• Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and scaling sales teams.
• Deep understanding of the clinical trial ecosystem and regulatory landscape.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and financial acumen.
• Experience leading organizational transformation.
• Client-centric mindset with accountability for results.
• Team player in a matrix environment with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team including senior leaders.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Operations to align go-to-market plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients and industry partners.
• Monitor pipeline health, forecasting, and performance metrics; take corrective actions.
• Leverage data assets and market intelligence to inform client solutions.
• Own sales playbooks, messaging, account coverage, and KPI governance.
• Partner with HR to define roles, levels, and incentive structures.
• Travel up to 20-50% to engage clients and represent the company at events.
