Job summary

State Street is seeking an Employee Relations Consultant to advise on the full range of ER issues for North America business units. You will coach on performance, attendance, and conduct matters, applying employment laws and company policies to guide investigations and management decisions.

You will collaborate with country ER teams, Legal, Compliance and other stakeholders to deliver practical, risk-aware solutions, drafting counseling notices and improving ER workflows through technology.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in the Employee Relations field and a BS or BA degree.
• Strong influencing, stakeholder management, and consulting skills with sound, risk-aware advice.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with resilience.
• Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, including senior executives.
• Self-starter with strategic/analytical thinking and willingness to improve workflows with technology.
• Comfortable making difficult decisions considering legal requirements, risk, and judgment.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve potential conduct violations of Global HR policies with a risk mindset.
• Investigate and resolve grievances, performance, attendance, leave and accommodations with consulting to HRBP partners.
• Coordinate input from country ER Consultants, Legal, Compliance, Security, and Tech to shape practical solutions.
• Prepare case materials for Conduct Standards Working Group and Committee with recommended outcomes.
• Draft counseling and warning memoranda and deliver notices to employees; counsel managers accordingly.
• Counsel managers on warnings, performance improvement plans, and related documentation.
• Maintain systems and operations per corporate standards; use AI-enabled tools and streamline ER workflows.
