Job summary

State Street is seeking an Employee Relations Officer to support the North America ER team in workplace investigations and performance management across multiple client groups. You will independently handle routine ER matters, guide managers and HR partners, and escalate complex issues as needed while maintaining compliance with policies and laws.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in Employee Relations, HR, employment law, investigations, or related field.
• Knowledge of employee relations practices, performance management, investigations, and policies.
• Strong judgment and escalation ability.
• Clear, accurate case documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Support investigations with materials, outline interview plans, document interviews, and summarize using case management tools.
• Independently manage performance, attendance, and routine ER matters across client groups with escalation when needed.
• Guide managers on performance improvement plans, coaching memos, and related documentation.
• Gather facts, maintain case notes, track follow-ups, and organize files per standards.
• Coordinate input from ER, Legal, Compliance, Security, and HR partners; escalate as needed.
• Ensure policies and laws are applied consistently and protect sensitive information.
• Prepare case materials, timelines, and materials for review by senior ER members or governance forums.
• Draft ER correspondence, counseling documents, and warning memos for review.
• Maintain systems and operations per corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead ER projects, such as ER Toolkit maintenance and intranet updates.
• Use data and reporting tools to identify issues and raise actionable observations to ER leadership.
