Job summary

Banc of California is seeking a VP, Analytics Engineering to lead the design and delivery of enterprise data products on the Data Foundation Platform. You will manage a small team, work hands-on with Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Azure, and set engineering standards in a SOX-controlled environment.

You’ll hire, coach, and develop talent while collaborating with Product, BI, Governance, and Operations to ensure data solutions meet business needs and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field as listed.
• 8+ years in Data/Analytics Engineering or related roles.
• 3+ years leading technical teams and delivering engineering programs.
• 4+ years delivering enterprise data solutions with Snowflake, dbt, SQL and Azure.
• Experience with dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT, and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Analytics Engineers, Data Architects, and Modelers; hire, coach, develop talent.
• Design, build, and deliver scalable data solutions using Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Azure.
• Set engineering standards for dbt, SQL, modeling, documentation, and testing.
• Embed quality gates, data contracts, and governance into CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with Product, BI, Governance, and Operations to align data delivery with business needs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
