Job summary

Farm Family is seeking a Senior Underwriter Leader to guide the Commercial Lines underwriting strategy and daily operations from an on-site office. You will drive profitability, manage a team, and collaborate with actuarial, data analytics, claims, and compliance to meet targets.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in P&C underwriting, leadership experience, and relevant designations (CPCU/ARM/AFIS/AINS). This role requires 25% travel and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of P&C commercial underwriting experience.
• 5–10 years of progressive leadership and management experience.
• Proven experience leading underwriting teams and profitability for commercial lines.
• Industry designations: CPCU, ARM, AFIS or AINS.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Overnight travel required (25%).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute underwriting strategies aligned with company goals.
• Monitor underwriting performance including rate, reserve adequacy and pricing.
• Lead underwriting staff with focus on talent development and succession planning.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, AI, Data & Analytics, Claims, Risk Services and Compliance.
• Maintain relationships with brokers and agents to identify opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting authority delegations and governance.
