Job summary

Farm Family, a member of Clearbrook Group, seeks an experienced underwriting leader to steer the Commercial Lines portfolio and execute underwriting strategy. You will guide daily operations, influence pricing and profitability, and mentor a team of underwriters.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with actuarial, data analytics, claims, risk services and compliance to drive governance and performance targets. This is an on-site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 10 years of P&C commercial underwriting experience.
• 5 to 10 years of progressive leadership and management experience.
• Proven experience leading underwriting teams and developing underwriting strategy for commercial lines.
• Industry designations CPCU, ARM, AFIS, or AINS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute underwriting strategies that align with company goals and market conditions.
• Monitor underwriting performance using financial and operational analyses.
• Lead underwriting staff with focus on talent development and succession planning.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, AI, Data & Analytics, Claims, Risk Services, and Compliance.
• Maintain relationships with brokers and agents to identify opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting authority delegations and audit criteria.
• Oversee underwriting guidelines, appetite, and referral processes.
• Assess data, productivity, and loss analysis to guide strategy and workflow improvements.
