Job summary

Archer, collaborating with J.P. Morgan, seeks a Vice President in Risk Management – Collections Strategy for the pre-charge-off team (Cards).

You will own analytics and risk monitoring to keep the business within risk parameters while delivering long-term performance goals. Independently develop insights, diagnose trends, and translate findings into practical recommendations for senior leaders and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or similar)
• 7+ years of professional analytics experience supporting business strategy, risk, or performance management
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems and execute end-to-end analyses with strong critical thinking and attention to detail
• Experience applying statistical, quantitative, and/or data-mining techniques to identify trends and explain performance outcomes
• Translate complex analysis into practical solutions and executive-ready conclusions
• Experience producing risk/performance monitoring outputs (reports, scorecards, KPI frameworks)
• Strong communication skills to present insights to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
• Track record of working independently, with minimal oversight
• Strong collaboration skills to influence and align teams around data-driven actions
• Agility in learning and applying new tools to improve analytical delivery
• Results orientation with ownership and quality and control discipline

Responsibilities

• Develop analytics to measure, evaluate, and challenge key collections initiatives and performance outcomes
• Identify trends and performance shifts using statistical and data-mining methods
• Analyze collections data to deliver diagnostics and opportunities for strategy and process improvement
• Conduct root-cause analyses to isolate performance drivers and quantify impact
• Generate actionable recommendations for senior leadership and stakeholders
• Prepare detailed risk monitoring materials and performance narratives for management
• Present findings and strategic implications to multiple levels of management
• Lead design, build, and delivery of MIS dashboards and reporting solutions
• Partner across functions to align definitions, monitoring frameworks, and implementation plans
• Monitor internal/external signals and regulatory changes to improve risk management processes
• Drive adoption of new tools and technologies to enhance analytical rigor and speed
