Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Cloud & Risk Platform Engineer (Vice President) to architect and deliver cloud-native risk platforms with ultra-low latency across Credit and Market Risk domains. You will lead design, development, and deployment of high-performance services, mentor engineers, and champion AI-assisted engineering practices.

The role is on-site in Irving, TX, with a focus on scalable risk analytics, real-time processing, and strong collaboration with risk teams and architecture.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, distributed systems development, or applications architecture.
• Core Java & Modern Stack Mastery: Java 17/21+, Spring Boot, reactive frameworks, low-latency processing, memory optimization.
• Risk Domain Expertise in Credit Risk and/or Market Risk concepts (e.g., VaR, Stress Testing).
• Cloud & Distributed Computing: microservices on cloud platforms, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• AI Tooling & Modern Dev Acceleration: GitHub Copilot, Claude, Devin, and related tools.
• High-Throughput Messaging: Kafka, Pulsar, or RabbitMQ.
• API & Data Architecture: REST/gRPC, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redis, Cassandra, MongoDB.
• Quality & Test Automation: JUnit 5, Mockito, Cucumber, Testcontainers, JMeter/Gatling.
• CI/CD & DevOps: Git, Tekton, Harness, Jenkins; SonarQube; container security.
• Leadership & Communication: cross-functional collaboration and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build cloud-native, resilient microservices and high-throughput pipelines on modern cloud infrastructure.
• Power risk engines by modeling and streaming real-time analytics for Credit and Market Risk.
• Champion AI-augmented engineering across the SDLC, from prototyping to automated testing and reviews.
• Lead system design to ensure resiliency, scalability, and efficient data flows.
• Define engineering standards: clean code, CI/CD, telemetry, observability, and container orchestration.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineers and analysts.
• Drive risk governance, policy compliance, and responsible software practices.
