Job summary

Citi is seeking a Technology Lead Python Data Engineer (Vice President) to design and deliver scalable Python-based platforms for credit risk analytics. You will lead hands-on development, microservices architecture, and AI/GenAI integration within an enterprise banking environment.

The role combines technical leadership with system design, API-driven services, and collaboration across risk, product, and technology teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in application development or systems engineering in complex environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL with strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with API-driven services (FastAPI, Pydantic, Django).
• Designing microservices architectures with inter-service communication and observability.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Linux environments experience including shell scripting and troubleshooting.
• Strong testing practices including unit testing and TDD.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver scalable Python-based applications for credit risk analytics and reporting.
• Design microservices architectures with resilience, observability, and maintainability.
• Build API-driven services and integrate platforms with risk, product, and tech teams.
• Enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, CI/CD, and production readiness.
• Apply AI and GenAI capabilities to modernize workflows and analytics.
• Resolve high-impact initiatives by analyzing business processes and systems.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and prioritize work across teams.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, data, security, and regulatory requirements.
