Job summary

Honest Health in the United States seeks a visionary Vice President, Clinical Documentation Integrity to lead enterprise CDI strategy and governance. You will align CDI programs with regulatory requirements, enterprise priorities, and partner commitments.

You will oversee the full CDI portfolio, driving physician education, tooling, analytics, and provider engagement while shaping a scalable, compliant, high-impact organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Current CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or comparable health information credential required.
• Outpatient CDI, clinical documentation, auditing, or compliance credential preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in clinical documentation integrity, risk-adjustment coding, coding quality, or related healthcare operations.
• 7+ years of people-leadership experience, including leading leaders and multi-layered teams.
• Demonstrated experience establishing or evolving enterprise CDI capabilities, governance, and performance-management practices.
• Deep knowledge of CMS risk-adjustment coding, HCC documentation, ICD-10 coding, auditing, and applicable compliance standards.
• Experience supporting value-based care organizations, provider organizations, health systems, health plans, or other complex healthcare delivery environments.
• Ability to lead large-scale operational, technology, or workflow transformation.
• Experience developing executive-level strategies, operating plans, budgets, business cases, and performance reporting.
• Strong executive presence and effective communication with senior leaders, clinicians, partners, and governing bodies.
• Willingness to travel based on business and partner needs.

Responsibilities

• Establish enterprise CDI vision, multi-year strategy, operating model, and capability roadmap.
• Define the role of CDI across clinical operations, value-based care, partner performance, technology, compliance, and provider engagement.
• Establish enterprise governance, decision rights, policies, and performance standards for CDI programs.
• Translate growth plans and partner needs into scalable CDI capabilities, staffing models, technology requirements, and investment priorities.
• Evaluate regulatory, clinical, and industry developments and determine strategic implications for CDI programs.
• Ensure consistent CDI standards across markets, partners, programs, and delivery models.
• Maintain executive accountability for CDI portfolio performance, quality, scalability, and effectiveness.
• Establish enterprise objectives, dashboards, and reporting for CDI quality, adoption, engagement, and compliance.
• Identify opportunities using clinical, coding, operational, and financial insights and prioritize CDI initiatives.
• Sponsor evolution of pre-visit planning and other documentation-support programs.
• Provide strategic oversight of implementation plans for new CDI programs, partners, markets, technologies, and service offerings.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Clinical, and Coding to ensure CDI policies align with requirements.
• Ensure monitoring, auditing, escalation, and corrective-action processes to mitigate risks.
• Promote a culture of clinical accuracy, ethics, and regulatory compliance over short-term performance.
• Lead provider education, engagement, adoption, and performance improvement in CDI.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure CDI supports providers with timely, relevant information.
• Represent CDI in strategic partner discussions, performance reviews, and complex issue resolution.
• Incorporate provider and partner feedback into CDI strategy and continuous-improvement priorities.
• Define CDI technology and data strategy with Technology, Product, Analytics, and Clinical leadership.
• Establish requirements for documentation platforms, analytics, workflow tools, and EHR integration.
• Evaluate opportunities to responsibly use automation and advanced analytics in CDI processes.
• Ensure technology supports clinical workflows, partner needs, and measurable outcomes.
• Build and lead a high-performing CDI organization aligned with growth strategy.
• Lead and develop CDI leaders and ensure credentialing keeps pace with changes.
• Ensure workforce capabilities match organizational, regulatory, and technological changes.
• Serve as enterprise subject-matter leader for clinical documentation integrity.
• Advise executives on CDI performance, opportunities, and risks.
• Collaborate with diverse leaders across functions.
• Represent CDI in enterprise planning and strategic initiatives.
