HURC is seeking a Vice President, Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) to lead the inpatient and outpatient CDI practice for the organization, shaping strategy, growth, and service delivery across academic health systems and other complex providers.

The role blends clinical CDI expertise with executive presence and commercial acumen, serving as the practice’s face to client executives and prospects, and partnering with sales to expand into consulting-oriented services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years' CDI experience with leadership of CDI programs in large health systems including academic medical centers.
• Active licensure as an RN or physician is required.
• At least one recognized CDI/coding certification (e.g., CCDS, CDIP, CCS) required.
• Demonstrated command of CDI methodology across documentation-to-reimbursement continuum.
• Progressive leadership experience with accountability for teams and budgets.
• Exceptional executive communication with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• EPIC experience.

Responsabilités

• Design, standardize, and evolve CDI program models for Inpatient and Outpatient settings.
• Establish outpatient CDI capabilities for risk-adjusted and value-based care settings.
• Engage C-suite and physician leaders with credibility as a CDI expert.
• Translate CDI performance into quality and reimbursement insights and secure executive sponsorship.
• Lead change management across clinical and revenue-cycle stakeholders in academic environments.
• Evaluate program metrics and drive improvements and client value.
• Own KPI framework and drive performance against targets.
• Use data to identify gaps, benchmark performance, and quantify impact.
• Establish audit and quality routines to safeguard query integrity and compliance.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team; set expectations and coach.
