Job summary

Madison-Davis, LLC in New York City is seeking a VP – Assistant Controller to lead the corporate accounting function within an alternative asset manager. Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of accounting experience
• Combination of public accounting and hands-on industry/private accounting experience preferred
• Experience in alternative asset management/private equity/financial services is a plus
• Strong understanding of month-end/quarter-end close processes
• Ability to work with senior leadership and across functions

Responsibilities

• Own and review key components of the monthly and quarterly close
• Prepare/review journal entries and analyze financial results
• Review subsidiary and consolidated financial information
• Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Valuations and Financial Reporting
• Manage relationships with accounting teams across subsidiaries
• Prepare consolidated monthly reporting for the CFO
• Lead process improvement and systems implementation initiatives
• Evaluate unusual transactions and complex accounting matters
