Job summary

Hudson Gate Partners seeks an Assistant Controller (Path to CFO) to oversee fund accounting for VC funds and a family office. The role leads external and internal bookkeepers, ensures accurate NAV calculations, and manages capital calls, distributions, and investor materials.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of progressive accounting experience, private equity or VC fund accounting focus.
• Experience with fund structures, partnership accounting, and waterfall distributions.
• Strong communication skills with high-net-worth investors and institutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations for VC funds and family office entities.
• Manage capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
• Coordinate tax, audits, and external CPA work; ensure K-1s and tax returns are timely.
• Mentor internal and external bookkeepers and maintain internal controls.
