Job summary

Atlantic Group, a leading alternative investment firm, seeks a Controller in New York City to own the finance function for the management company and related entities. You will lead close processes, reporting, audits, and tax coordination while partnering with senior leadership across legal, operations, and investments.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in hedge funds/PE/alt asset management with strong MC accounting, consolidations, and transfer pricing experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of finance/accounting experience within hedge funds, PE, or alt asset managers.
• Strong management company accounting experience required.
• Hands-on experience with consolidations and transfer pricing preferred.
• Exposure to audits, partnership structures, FP&A, and tax matters.
• CPA preferred as credential.

Responsibilities

• Lead management company, GP, and international entity accounting and consolidations.
• Own monthly close, financial reporting, audits, and US GAAP financial statements.
• Manage intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, and cross-border operations.
• Oversee tax processes with external advisors.
• Maintain partner capital accounts, ownership records, and distributions calculations.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and management reporting.
• Support strategic growth through financial modeling and analysis.

Job description

A leading alternative investment firm is seeking a Controller to take ownership of management company accounting, financial reporting, tax coordination, FP&A, and partner capital administration. This is a high-impact opportunity to join a rapidly growing investment platform with approximately $2B in AUM, institutional infrastructure, and an entrepreneurial culture.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will help build and internalize the firm's finance function while partnering closely with senior leadership across operations, legal, technology, and investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead management company, GP, and international entity accounting and consolidations.
• Own monthly close, financial reporting, audits, and US GAAP financial statements.
• Manage intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, and cross-border financial operations.
• Oversee tax processes in coordination with external advisors.
• Maintain partner capital accounts, ownership records, and distribution calculations.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and management reporting.
• Support strategic growth initiatives through financial modeling and analysis.

Ideal Background

• At least 8 years of finance/accounting experience within a hedge fund, private equity firm, or alternative asset manager.
• Strong management company accounting experience required.
• Hands-on experience with consolidations and transfer pricing is preferred.
• Exposure to audits, partnership structures, FP&A, and tax matters.
• CPA preferred.

Schedule:

Compensation:

$175,000-$200,000 base salary + bonus (target total compensation of $275,000-$300,000)
