Job summary

Banc of California is seeking a VP, Analytics Engineering to lead the design and delivery of enterprise data products on the Data Foundation Platform. You will oversee a small team, partner across data and business units, and ensure high-quality data products in a SOX-controlled environment.

You’ll drive standards for dbt models, semantic modeling, and data governance while accelerating development with AI-assisted tooling and robust testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Warehouse Development, or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a small team of Analytics Engineers, Data Architects, and Modelers.
• Design, build, and deliver scalable data solutions using Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Azure.
• Establish engineering standards for dbt, SQL, data modeling, documentation, version control, testing, and deployment.
• Embed dbt tests and quality gates into Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
