Job summary

Banc of California is seeking a VP of Analytics Engineering to lead the design and delivery of enterprise data products on the bank’s Data Foundation Platform. This hands-on, player-coach role oversees a small team and collaborates with engineering, data governance, and business partners, delivering scalable data solutions with Snowflake, dbt, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
• 3+ years leading technical teams and delivering engineering projects.
• 4+ years delivering enterprise data solutions using Snowflake, dbt, SQL and Microsoft Azure.
• 3+ years with production-grade dbt projects (modular models, testing, documentation).
• 5+ years in dimensional/relational modeling, data warehouses, semantic models.

Responsibilities

• Lead Analytics Engineers, Data Architects, and Modelers; hire and develop talent.
• Design and deliver scalable data solutions using Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Azure.
• Set standards for dbt, SQL, data modeling, documentation, version control, testing, deployment.
• Own transformation and modeling layers of the platform.
• Embed dbt tests and data quality checks in CI/CD pipelines and governance.
