Job summary

Banc of California, Inc. is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to help build, operate, and continuously improve a modern cloud data platform. You will work with Azure, Snowflake, and dbt to ingest data, optimize performance, and implement DataOps practices.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years in data engineering, strong SQL, Python, and experience with Azure services, Snowflake, and modern data tooling. Collaboration with BI, analytics, and architecture teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3–4 years of experience in Data Engineering or related role.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (ADF, ADLS Gen2, Synapse).
• Experience developing data solutions on Snowflake.
• Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation tools.
• Strong SQL and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD (Azure DevOps) and Terraform.
• Python scripting for automation.
• Experience with Power BI, Purview, Alteryx or similar tools.
• Certification in Azure (AZ-900, DP-203) and/or Snowflake SnowPro is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and enhance Banc of California’s cloud data platform.
• Develop and maintain scalable data solutions using Azure, Snowflake, and dbt.
• Create ingestion pipelines from source systems to Snowflake Raw layer.
• Implement CI/CD and DataOps practices.
• Provide Tier 2 production support and automate operational tasks.
• Support data governance, monitoring, and data tools integration.
