Job summary

Banc of California, Inc. is hiring a Data Platform Engineer to build, operate, and advance a cloud-based data platform using Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, and dbt.

You will work with cross-functional teams to land source data into Snowflake, optimize pipelines, and implement DataOps practices. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years in data engineering, strong SQL and Python skills, and experience with Azure services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
• 3-4 years in Data Engineering or related role.
• Hands-on with Azure data services (ADF, ADLS Gen2, Synapse).
• Experience with Snowflake and dbt.
• Strong SQL, debugging, and optimization skills.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines.
• Python for scripting and automation.
• Experience in Banking/Financial Services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the cloud data platform and ingestion pipelines on Azure, Snowflake, and dbt.
• Build ingestion from source systems to Snowflake Raw layer and optimize pipelines.
• Onboard new source systems with connectivity and logging for trusted data.
• Provide deployment automation and platform services for dbt workloads.
• Tune Snowflake compute, storage, and query performance.
• Enable CI/CD and DataOps practices across the stack.
• Collaborate with Data Eng, BI, and stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
• Contribute to platform resilience and disaster recovery efforts.
